The Linda & Rudy Slucker Religious School – APRIL NEWSLETTER

Dear Families,

On the last two days in March our building hummed with laughter as we all got ready to celebrate Passover, our ancestors’ journey to freedom.   On Sunday, our youngest students ran relay races, tasted matzah with various toppings and challenged each other in pyramid building games.  Each child walked out with a goody bag as a token of the day.    On Tuesday, our Third – Sixth Grade students  played “Who Wants to be a Passover Millionaire” and were treated to an AMAZING comedic performance by The Bible Players.  The Bible Players are an educational and interactive Bible comedy show.  Our students were just captivated by their abundant energy and spirit.  The Bible Players  did an encore performance for our Seventh-Eighth Graders, who also enjoyed the humor and interactive portions of the show.   “A Zissen Pesach”:  that is what I taught our students to say as they slurped on their sweet ice pops at the end of the fun-   I wish all of our families a very “Sweet Passover”.

L’Shalom,

Mindy Schreff

 COOKING FOR THE INTERFAITH

FOOD PANTRY

Hot Lunch

We are very excited about a new opportunity to help feed the hungry that can involve even our youngest members~

TSTI will be providing hot lunch at the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges on the first Saturday of each month. This is held in the same space as our food pantry, but is being coordinated by another group of wonderful temple volunteers.

If you want to help shop, cook, serve or donate, please contact Robin Greenberg: robingre@verizon.net  and you will be added to the IFP Soup Kitchen email list. There are so many people in Orange and East Orange who deal with hunger on a daily basis, and it is wonderful to have this additional opportunity to
try to help them.
