The Linda and Rudy Slucker Religious School – May Newsletter

Dear Families,

Wow, the school year has flown by! It seems like just a few days ago I stood outside for the very first time, excited and a little nervous as I welcomed all of our students to the first day of school. I still feel that same excitement as I greet our students each week. As they tumble out of their cars they bring with them boundless energy, a natural curiosity and an eagerness to learn. I am in awe of the creativity, thoughtful learning and Jewish spirituality that pervades our building. Our gifted teachers have created an environment where children engage in activities that help them grow as young members of the Jewish community. We are blessed to have an amazing team of Madrichim who not only aide the students in learning, but are role models for their continued connection to temple life. It has been a wonderful year of learning, for students as well as faculty, me included. I have had the pleasure of sharing not only educational experiences with our students, but also the amazing “in between” moments when I got to spend time with students either reading Hebrew, chatting about a lesson or just getting to know them. I will miss the students over the summer, please stop by and visit!   I wish you all a wonderful summer, full of cherished family time and time to explore the things you love.

L’Shalom,

Mindy Schreff      ____________________________________________________________________________________________

COOKING FOR THE INTERFAITH

FOOD PANTRY

We are very excited about a new opportunity to help feed the hungry that can involve even our youngest members~
TSTI will be providing hot lunch at the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges on the first Saturday of each month. This is held in the same space as our food pantry, but is being coordinated by another group of wonderful temple volunteers. If you want to help shop, cook, serve or donate, please contact Robin Greenberg:

tstisoupkitchen@gmail.com  and you will be added to the IFP Soup Kitchen email list. There are so many people in Orange and East Orange who deal with hunger on a daily basis, and it is wonderful to have this additional opportunity to
try to help them.

to be donated to the
