Special Musical Shabbat Service:  Please join us as we raise our VOICES together this Friday nightat 7:30pm to HONOR and PAY TRIBUTE to CANTOR ARONSON, his career and the sacred music he has brought into our congregation and our hearts for the last 45 years. A festive oneg will follow for all to enjoy! It will be an unforgettable evening that no one should miss!We are still accepting reservations for the Simcha Celebration on June 9 and the virtual Tribute journal has captured the sentiments of many (take a look).  We hope to have 100% participation – no donation is too small to acknowledge Cantor’s big impact on our Congregation.  If you haven’t already, RSVP and submit your journal ad now.

Judaism and Superstition: Join Rabbi Cohen on Mon., May 21 at 7pm as he walks us through interesting examples of where superstition and magic have been found in Jewish history.  For more info or to register, contact Tracy Horwitz.
ROBOTS!  Who doesn’t like ROBOTS?!  Join us on Tues., May 22 at 7pm for a unique opportunity with Professor Amir Shapiro of Ben-Gurion University in Israel, an expert in robotics.  And he’s bringing some of his robots!  It promises to be a wonderful evening for kids and adults alike as we get to interact with the robots and learn about some of the many ways they have advanced the fields of industry, medicine and security. Bring One:  Make it a habit to bring one non-perishable food item – canned veggies, beans, pasta, peanut butter, soup – EACH TIME you come to Temple to help support our community and the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Volunteers Needed for the Interfaith Food Pantry:  TSTI is responsible for staffing the IFP of the Oranges (IFPO) this Wed., May 23 9am-11am.  Other upcoming dates are June 27, July 25 and Aug. 22.  Please contact Janet Schwamm to volunteer or to be added to the email list.  

IFP Soup Kitchen & COORDINATOR NEEDED:  Sign up now for future IFP Soup Kitchen dates – the first Saturday of each month. There are many ways to be involved: provide food, provide paper goods, serve food, clean up – do it all or choose just one. We welcome all participation. If you have questions or are interested in participating or coordinating, please email Robin Greenberg to be placed on her email list.

Transportation is available for congregants who need a ride to services and temple events.  Contact Alice Forman at (973)736-3467 if you need a ride or if you can offer a ride to others.

Parasha Behar establishes the laws of the sabbatical year.  Every 7th year, all work on the land ceases and people and animals are free to take the produce.  After 7 sabbatical years (in the 50th year), the jubilee year occurs.  All work ceases, all indentured servants are set free and all land reverts to original owners.  Parasha Behar also includes the laws regarding the sale of land and the prohibitions against fraud and usury.
