IN THIS ISSUE…
One wonderful Cantor, two special events…is absolutely correct:  Friday May 18th was an extraordinary Shabbat at TSTI according to all in attendance.  The warmth, love and energy in the congregation was genuinely special.  Now there is still time, but with limited space, for you to join us on June 9th.  RSVP right away on the website and be sure to add your personal tribute for Cantor online as well.   We are hoping to have everyone participate at some level.  A  special music fund will be established with funds raised.  Don’t be left behind when Cantor moves to emeritus…We want to hear from you!  For those that are wondering about Saturday night…Jackets are suggested for men, for women dressy party attire.

For more about these and other items, log on to TSTI.org.

IFP Soup Kitchen & COORDINATOR NEEDED:  Sign up now for future IFP Soup Kitchen dates – the first Saturday of each month.  There are many ways to be involved: provide food, provide paper goods, serve food, clean up – do it all or choose just one.  We welcome all participation.  If you have questions or are interested in participating or coordinating, please email Robin Greenberg to be placed on her email list.

Transportation is available for congregants who need a ride to services and temple events.  Contact Alice Forman at (973)736-3467 if you need a ride or if you can offer a ride to others.

ParashaWEEKLY PARASHA

Parasha B’Midbar

Numbers 1:1-4:20

This parasha begins the Book of Numbers.  God instructs Moses to take a census of all male Israelites at least 20 years of age who can bear arms.  The number totals 603,550.  Female adults, all children and the Levites are not included in the census.  The Levites maintain the responsibility for the Tabernacle.  The people are counted according to their tribes for the first time and the Levites are assigned to serve particular tribes.
