Screen Shot 2012 08 20 at 2 37 14 PMAccording to Talmud tradition the Hebrew word “Elul” is an acronym for the Song of Songs verse- “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li” – “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. It is a reminder of just how important our relationships are and the on-going need to nurture them. The Holy Days recognize that none of us is perfect. Despite the best of intentions there will be times throughout the year when we fall short. At those times, especially, we need to be reminded– “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li”– just how precious our connection to one another is.
