February Religious School Newsletter

Dear Parents,

On Sunday, February 3rd, if you passed by our building you would have heard our K-6 students raising their voices with Jewish Rock star Rick Recht! Rick is the top-touring musician in Jewish music today. He is not only a very talented musician; he is also an amazing role model for involvement in Jewish life.  He has become an icon of Jewish youth in the US, elevating Jewish music as an effective tool for developing Jewish pride.  We are thrilled to have brought him to TSTI to share his passion and commitment to our youth.   Our students were inspired, connected and enthralled with Rick as soon as he set foot in our building!

Please check out the TSTI website at www.tsti.org and our Facebook page and “like” us to see more pictures and keep up to date with all awesome activities here at the Linda and Rudy Slucker Religious School.

L’Shalom,

Mindy

All Nineteen of our First Grade students made beautiful tissue paper flowers in pots that were delivered to Vose Apts, which is a Jewish Federation residence for Seniors in South Orange.

Ella Weisberger (and her brother Jacob) held a tzedakah night for the last night of Chanukah. They took the money Mom and Dad would have spent on presents, plus money from their own piggy banks, and donated to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and the Fresh Air Fund.

Ben Bratter helped carry and load 20 bags of donated household items I collected for the food pantry, he donated 15 toys to the Jersey Animal Coalition for dogs and cats and he chose 10 toys in good shape that he no longer plays with to donate to the IFP.
